Le pôle MEDEE fédère les entreprises et acteurs académiques de la région Hauts-de-France, autour de projets collaboratifs de R&D et Innovation en énergie électrique.
Fort de 15 années d’expérience, le pôle MEDEE - Maîtrise Énergétique des Entraînements Électriques - accompagne les structures, de l’idée à la promotion de leurs projets, en passant par la recherche de financement et de partenaires adaptés. Au cœur de la transition énergétique, le pôle concentre son savoir-faire sur les réseaux électriques intelligents, les énergies renouvelables, l’efficacité énergétique des process industriels et la mobilité électrique.
Grâce à son Comité Scientifique, MEDEE garantit l’excellence des projets à travers sa labellisation, et donne également accès aux compétences et équipements de pointe de son réseau.
Le Comité Scientifique analyse les projets selon différents axes :
• Axe 1 : Matériaux et composants du génie électrique
• Axe 2 : Convertisseurs d'énergie intelligents
• Axe 3 : Intégration système, Gestion et stockage de l'énergie électrique
• Axe transverse : Outils & méthodes numériques
Ce comité peut être saisi à tout moment de l’année et respecte la confidentialité des dossiers qu’ils traitent.
Le pôle MEDEE est également l’animateur du Collectif Régional des Réseaux Énergétiques Intelligents – CORREI – dont l’ambition est de contribuer au déploiement massifs des solutions REI. Sa mission est de fédérer et structurer les acteurs régionaux des Réseaux Énergétiques Intelligents, dont les collectivités, et de promouvoir les compétences régionales : de créer un véritable espace de dialogue.»

The Multitel research center was created in 1995 on the initiative of the Polytechnic Faculty of the University of Mons (with support from the European Regional Development Fund).
At the time, the center's activities focused mainly on computer networks, photonics, voice technologies and signal processing.
In 1999, Multitel became an "Approved Research Center" in the form of a non-profit association (ASBL), while maintaining very close links with the University of Mons.
In the context of inter-university cooperation, a team from UCL joined the center in 2000, to extend its skills to image processing.
Since 2008, driven by a desire to diversify, Multitel has also established itself as a key player in the railway sector, and has acquired the status of an accredited independent laboratory for ERTMS certification in the railway signalling sector.
With a view to continuing its growth and offering even more services to SMEs, Multitel opened new offices in Tournai in March 2013.
Since 2016, Multitel has also been present in the EuraTechnologies ecosystem in Lille.
In early 2020, Multitel also moved to Charleroi, becoming a member of A6K, a shared multidisciplinary center dedicated to engineering sciences.
