Backed by 15 years' experience, the MEDEE cluster - Maîtrise Énergétique des Entraînements Électriques - supports structures from the idea stage through to project promotion, including the search for financing and suitable partners. At the heart of the energy transition, the cluster focuses its expertise on smart power grids, renewable energies, energy efficiency in industrial processes and electric mobility. Thanks to its Scientific Committee, MEDEE guarantees the excellence of projects through its label, and also provides access to the cutting-edge skills and equipment of its network. The Scientific Committee analyzes the projects according to different axes: - Area 1: Electrical engineering materials and components - Area 2: Intelligent energy converters - Area 3: System integration, management and storage of electrical energy - Transverse axis: Digital tools and methods This committee can be consulted at any time of the year, and respects the confidentiality of the issues they deal with. The MEDEE cluster is also the coordinator of the Collectif Régional des Réseaux Énergétiques Intelligents - CORREI - whose ambition is to contribute to the mass deployment of REI solutions. Its mission is to federate and structure regional players in Intelligent Energy Networks, including local authorities, and to promote regional skills: to create a genuine space for dialogue."

Polytech Mons University of Mons UCL The Multitel research center was created in 1995 on the initiative of the Polytechnic Faculty of the University of Mons (with support from the European Regional Development Fund). At the time, the center's activities focused mainly on computer networks, photonics, voice technologies and signal processing. In 1999, Multitel became an "Approved Research Center" in the form of a non-profit association (ASBL), while maintaining very close links with the University of Mons. In the context of inter-university cooperation, a team from UCL joined the center in 2000, to extend its skills to image processing. Since 2008, driven by a desire to diversify, Multitel has also established itself as a key player in the railway sector, and has acquired the status of an accredited independent laboratory for ERTMS certification in the railway signalling sector. With a view to continuing its growth and offering even more services to SMEs, Multitel opened new offices in Tournai in March 2013. Since 2016, Multitel has also been present in the EuraTechnologies ecosystem in Lille. In early 2020, Multitel also moved to Charleroi, becoming a member of A6K, a shared multidisciplinary center dedicated to engineering sciences.
