"Large-scale voice data collection poses a threat to the privacy of citizens because voice contains sensitive biometric information. Voice not only conveys the message, but also identity, emotions, health conditions, personality traits, etc related to the speaker. International privacy laws, such as the GDPR in Europe and the CPPA in Canada, recommend the anonymization and removal of biometric information from the collected data. The GDPR sanctions up to 4% of the company’s turnover as penalty in case of violations.
Nijta offers a new technology based on cutting-edge scientific research carried out as part of the European H2020 COMPRISE project. Nijta’s technology uses machine learning methods to remove attributes that identify individuals from their voice to generate a new anonymized audio file. Our technology is the only one to have been rigorously scientifically validated against the most powerful biometric attacks. Customer data remains useful for adapting voice transcription systems and for extracting voice metadata, such as customer preferences, emotions, etc. The anonymized data can be stored for longer durations and shared with third-party vendors to create more value."
