Supporting and promoting deeptech, industrial and space innovations: a perfect synergy between Act In Space® and EuraTechnologies

This edition was once again steered by EuraTechnologies, supported by the Communauté d’Agglomération du Saint-Quentinois, through the SpaceTech, Industrie et Robotique incubator, under the coordination of Startup Manager Elise Mondot. This area of specialization embodies the company's desire to foster the emergence of new cutting-edge technology projects by supporting project leaders from the idea stage right through to commercial development.

À this title, Act In Space® constitutes an ideal terrain for the 55 participants divided into 12 teams. They were given the opportunity to usereal space technologies to solve a problem chosen from 27 real-life challenges submitted by major players in the space sector, including ESA, CNES, Airbus and Thales Alenia Space. Over a 24-hour period, each team then developed concepts that could become deeptech startups, and benefited from the business and technological expertise of the European Space Agency and EuraTechnologies.

From Friday lunchtime to Saturday lunchtime, the teams were accompanied by mentors selected from the vast EuraTechnologies ecosystem. Experts in the fields of space, data, hardware and industry, as well as entrepreneurs who have already passed through EuraTechnologies, lent their skills to support the participants in this daunting challenge.

The winning Hauts-de-France team embarks for the national final

At the end of the deliberations, the jury, composed of Chekib Gharbi, member of the board of directors of’EuraTechnologies and Director of the Campus Cyber Hauts-De-France, Yann Kervarec, Director of EuraTechnologies programs and Barbara Domont, Territory Promotion Manager - Agglomération du Saint-Quentinois and Dhahri Maher, Doctor of Engineering in aerospace sciences and teacher-researcher at Elisa Aerospace, rewarded the Kerbonamics team. Comprising Simon BRIL, Aurélie LAMERAND, Kilian FRANCOISE, Arthur DEWASTE and Simon GODRAN, the team worked on the TAS4 challenge, which involved imagining a new-generation microsatellite designed from intelligent, interchangeable and reconfigurable modules directly in orbit. In an environment requiring profound, sustainable transformations, this challenge aimed to design a plug & play architecture and propose uses and business models capable of transforming tomorrow's satellite manufacturing, maintenance and services.

By responding to this complex challenge, the Kerbonamics team has opened the doors to the French national final to be held in Bordeaux on April 1er, 2026, before having the opportunity to compete in the grand international final the following day also in Bordeaux.

The winning team was then awarded the 1er prize by Frédérique Macarez, Mayor of Saint-Quentin and President of the Communauté d’Agglomération du Saint-Quentinois, alongside Maher Dhari and Chekib Gharbi who presented the 2ndth and 3rdth prizes respectively.

This award thus offers them:

  • A place in EuraTechnologies’s SpaceTech, Industries & Robotics incubation program,
  • 1 year of dedicated support from the Communauté d’Agglomération du Saint-Quentinois,
  • All transport and accommodation costs for the national final in Bordeaux.

The most promising projects can also be supported over the long term, thanks to the lasting links established with ESA's network of incubators, as well as the industrial and technological partners mobilized by EuraTechnologies and its know-how.

« Act In Space® fits perfectly with our vision: transforming cutting-edge technologies into concrete entrepreneurial opportunities. This year's event demonstrated the energy, potential and creativity of our region. We’re proud to support the talents who will drive tomorrow»s major innovations in the space sector, adds Elise Mondot, Startup Manager SpaceTech, Industry and Robotics at EuraTechnologies.
